Had a great time stitching and catching up at Perle’s last night.

And today, I was lucky enough to meet Jo and her ‘not usually so shy’ Ollie.
He was very sweet!!! Jo wasn’t so bad either 😉

I am so enjoying getting to know local bloggers with obsessions to match my own!!

Some stitching also …

Have a great weekend.

Andi 🙂

Cush Cush

On our recent trip to Noosa, I visited the Eumundi Markets where I bought, amongst other things, some awesome bean bags from a company called Cush Cush.

These are the comfiest, softest bean bags EVER and make for fabulous outdoor furniture during the fine weather.

I wanted to make some other cushions to go with the bean bags and found some fantastic canvas trim to use, during a catch-up with some fabulous women yesterday.

A quick trip to Spotlight for some coordinating canvas fabric and voila!!

Outdoor comfort for all!!

Have a great weekend.
I hope the sun is shining where you are.

Andi 🙂

EDIT 25/10/09 – Didn’t realise Karen was blogging too now. Sorry for the omission Karen!!!
And Thanks to Wendy for the link!!

Lucky girl!!

So, I went to the Amitie sale a week or so ago and did some shopping for Kate because she was stranded with the kids and no car.

Little did I know, I was shopping for Amy and Sheridan too.
Look what they sent me to say ‘thanks’:

Sheridan (left) sent me some yellow Pez (because she is thoughtful and kind) and some Babushka fabric all wrapped up on some lovely ribbon and a sweet card.
Amy (right) (also thoughtful and kind) sent some funky squares fabric and some Babushka ribbon AND a card with her own softie creation on it.
(Funny how they both sent Babushka stuff. Love it!!)

Thanks to both of you. Anytime you want me to go fabric shopping on your behalf, just give a yell!! I had a ball!!

Also, here are some fabrics I’ve pulled out for a new quilt.

Quite a few reproduction vintage style fabrics, all small prints. Hmmm …. what could I be planning?

I plan to take them on our Noosa holiday in a couple of weeks so I’ll be hand piecing this one. (Another hint perhaps??)

Any suggestions for crafty things to do around Noosa?

Thanks,
Andi 🙂

Had a brilliant time today at the Melbourne Craft and Quilt Fair with the lovely Kate from One Flew Over

You should have seen the queues to buy tickets:

At morning tea time, we caught up with some other lovely bloggy ladies (My camera didn’t take a great shot so pop over to Cathy’s for a better pic)

Front row (L-R):

Rita from Red Pepper Quilts, Lurline from Lurline’s Place, Kate and me.

Behind (L-R):

Rita’s sister Karen (a long arm quilter from Northcote who won some quilting awards at the show today), Muriel from Yellow Roses, Cathy from Cabbage Quilts, and Bronwyn from Whippet Good.

It was so lovely to meet up with some of the people I’ve only ever met on the interweb!! Thanks girls.

My credit card took a bit of a beating today.

I got some Applique Wonder and some Miracle Fabric Sheets …

… some divine books …

….. of course some fabric.
I found these beauties at Kelani Fabrics which is definitely a new favourite place to shop.

To add to this yummy haul, I bought some Valori Wells Urban Flannels to make a baby girl’s quilt.

Not bad for a morning’s shopping.

There were some lovely quilts on display as well. In particular there were some amazing log cabin quilts with the tiniest little logs (some as small as quarter of an inch).

Here is a montage of some of the quilts that caught my eye ….

Can I just say that although I appreciate the copyright issues being discussed of late on various blogs, I am of the belief that if you put your work up for public display, you can’t complain about people sharing images of your work (as long as no-one is profitting from your original designs).

So, please enjoy these images but don’t copy any original ideas and go off and make a squillion dollars selling them as your own.

Thanks,

Andi 🙂
